TN-V4: How to Install Plugins and CTF-Themes (Installment 3 of 3)

Friday, December 20, 2013
In this third Installment I show you how to install plugins and Themes at your PS Vita running the TN-V4 eCFW.

FOR INSTALLING GAMES WE NEED A FEW TOOLS, I WILL SHOW YOU HOW TO DO THIS AT WINDOWS 7

At first we need WinRAR:Download (use the version of your language)
Then be sure to enable the file extensions (Important!):Click me
Finally we need some Plugins and themes. Just search Plugins and themes for the PSP Firmware 6.60, because those will be working with TN-V4.

HOW TO PREPARE THE PLUGINS AND THEMES FOR TRANSFERING THEM TO YOUR PS VITA

At first be sure that your Plugins are in the .PRX format and that your themese are in the .CTF format. Now continue like this:
Create a folder called seplugins and put all your plugins into it (there might be a few exceptions which use their own folder, like cxmb).
Create 3 txt files: One has to be called VSH.TXT (for the XMB), another one GAME.TXT (for games and homebrews) and the third one POPS.TXT (for PS1 games).
Open said txt files and add the following string(s): ms0:/seplugins/plugin-name.prx 0
Beware that some plugins just work for the XMB (VSH), some just for GAME and some just for POPS. Don’t add plugins like cxmb to game, cause that is useless.
For example installing the dayviewer.prx plugin (Open vsh.txt): ms0:/seplugins/dayviewer.prx 0
Then just close said txt files until you’ve added all the necessary plugins.
Now for the themes: Put the .CTF themes in a folder called THEME. Now put said THEME folder into a folder called THEME.
This leaves us with the following path: /PSP/THEME/file.ctf
Since we need cxmb for running ctf themes, we just install it.
Since cxmb is an exception, we do not put it into the /seplugins/ folder, but put it in its own folder, called cxmb.
We still have to add cxmb to our vsh.txt file (since CXMB is used in the XMB): ms0:/cxmb/cxmb.prx 0
When we’re satisfied with all our plugins and themes, select all folders (seplugins, PSP and cxmb) and put them into a .rar or .zip file.
Call said archive FILE.ZIP (or FILE.RAR) and put it into any savedata folder (It can be the exploit savedata folder, but it can be any other too!).
Transfer the savedata folder to your PS Vita and boot TN-V4.
Now start the Homebrew PSPFiler 6.6 and go into the /PSP/ folder.
Now go into the /SAVEDATA/ folder and search your savegame.
If you find it, open it and search for the .ZIP/.RAR file. Open said archive file and you will find your folders.
Copy those folders to ms0:/ (this is the root of the memory stick).
After you’ve copied all the folders, exit PSPFiler and go back to the XMB.
Now go into the Recovery Menu (Press select and then select TN Recovery Menu) and search for the advanced tab.
Check if Plugins are enabled for VSH, GAME and POPS.
Now go back to the main menu of the recovery menu and check the plugins tab.
Enable/Disable the plugins you want and then exit the recovery menu.
Wished plugins should now be working.
That’s it. It is a bit more work than the ISOs, Homebrews and co., but it is definitely worth it.
Be sure to check out my (bad) instruction video, if you need any help.
The video should show you what to do.
I wish you a lot of fun with Total_Noobs TN-V4 eCFW.
