[RELEASE] TN-V6

Saturday, December 21, 2013
"I haven't taken a rest - on the contrary, I have worked hard on a new update for you guys! This update brings you many pretty features, many bug fixes and also, now you have got a 'Plugin installer' included in the recovery menu! In the package, there are some plugins as examples. Also, check this thread for homebrews and plugins: viewtopic.php?f=56&t=17071

Further, small revisions won't have such a big interval...in example TN-V6.1 ;)

The pretty new changelog of TN-V6:
* Added 'Plugins remover' to recovery menu (This does only remove the path line in 'vsh.txt', 'game.txt' or 'pops.txt').
* Fixed the blue screen of death / setup reset, finally.
* Fixed sleep-timer in music player, again.
* Fixed 'Tekken 6' game and probably some other games.
* Removed 'Use TN network update' from recovery menu. This option is now always enabled.

The pretty new changelog of TN-V5:
* Added 'Plugins installer' to recovery menu (Plugins -> Plugins installer ->).
* Added option to hide non-working items in XMB (these items will be hidden: Character Set,
UMD Auto-Start, USB Auto Connect, Format Memory Stick, Power Save Settings, Network Settings and Remote Play).
* Added option to hide the volume bar in the home menu.
* Fixed bug that made some ISO's showing as corrupt.
* Fixed plugin loading crash.
* Fixed autorun feature (also corrected its filename in recovery menu).
* Fixed the sleep-timer in music player. It's cool, because the Vita's music player doesn't have this feature.
* Improved 'Install Addon' feature. Kxploit'ed homebrews, aka 1.50 homebrews can now be installed correctly.
ZIP's which do not contain EBOOT.PBP don't create corrupt icons anymore.
* Improved system stability. Hopefully there are no issues with FTP app and no blue screen of death anymore.
* Renamed 'Hide CFW folders' to 'Allow anti-CFW games'. People who play DJMAX game should enable this.

Also, you can grap TN-V6 directly from your XMB! Just go to 'Network update' - in TN-V, not in PS Vita livearea :P (also, you can just create a random SSID when you are asked to connect to a WLAN).

READ README.TXT!!

Otherwise...download it here, but I suggest you to download it from XMB, as you'll see a pretty updater using VLF by Dark_AleX!

TN-V4: How to Install Plugins and CTF-Themes (Installment 3 of 3)

Friday, December 20, 2013
In this third Installment I show you how to install plugins and Themes at your PS Vita running the TN-V4 eCFW.

FOR INSTALLING GAMES WE NEED A FEW TOOLS, I WILL SHOW YOU HOW TO DO THIS AT WINDOWS 7

At first we need WinRAR:Download (use the version of your language)
Then be sure to enable the file extensions (Important!):Click me
Finally we need some Plugins and themes. Just search Plugins and themes for the PSP Firmware 6.60, because those will be working with TN-V4.

HOW TO PREPARE THE PLUGINS AND THEMES FOR TRANSFERING THEM TO YOUR PS VITA

At first be sure that your Plugins are in the .PRX format and that your themese are in the .CTF format. Now continue like this:
Create a folder called seplugins and put all your plugins into it (there might be a few exceptions which use their own folder, like cxmb).
Create 3 txt files: One has to be called VSH.TXT (for the XMB), another one GAME.TXT (for games and homebrews) and the third one POPS.TXT (for PS1 games).
Open said txt files and add the following string(s): ms0:/seplugins/plugin-name.prx 0
Beware that some plugins just work for the XMB (VSH), some just for GAME and some just for POPS. Don’t add plugins like cxmb to game, cause that is useless.
For example installing the dayviewer.prx plugin (Open vsh.txt): ms0:/seplugins/dayviewer.prx 0
Then just close said txt files until you’ve added all the necessary plugins.
Now for the themes: Put the .CTF themes in a folder called THEME. Now put said THEME folder into a folder called THEME.
This leaves us with the following path: /PSP/THEME/file.ctf
Since we need cxmb for running ctf themes, we just install it.
Since cxmb is an exception, we do not put it into the /seplugins/ folder, but put it in its own folder, called cxmb.
We still have to add cxmb to our vsh.txt file (since CXMB is used in the XMB): ms0:/cxmb/cxmb.prx 0
When we’re satisfied with all our plugins and themes, select all folders (seplugins, PSP and cxmb) and put them into a .rar or .zip file.
Call said archive FILE.ZIP (or FILE.RAR) and put it into any savedata folder (It can be the exploit savedata folder, but it can be any other too!).
Transfer the savedata folder to your PS Vita and boot TN-V4.
Now start the Homebrew PSPFiler 6.6 and go into the /PSP/ folder.
Now go into the /SAVEDATA/ folder and search your savegame.
If you find it, open it and search for the .ZIP/.RAR file. Open said archive file and you will find your folders.
Copy those folders to ms0:/ (this is the root of the memory stick).
After you’ve copied all the folders, exit PSPFiler and go back to the XMB.
Now go into the Recovery Menu (Press select and then select TN Recovery Menu) and search for the advanced tab.
Check if Plugins are enabled for VSH, GAME and POPS.
Now go back to the main menu of the recovery menu and check the plugins tab.
Enable/Disable the plugins you want and then exit the recovery menu.
Wished plugins should now be working.
That’s it. It is a bit more work than the ISOs, Homebrews and co., but it is definitely worth it.
Be sure to check out my (bad) instruction video, if you need any help.
The video should show you what to do.
I wish you a lot of fun with Total_Noobs TN-V4 eCFW.

TN-V4: How to Install ISOs, CSOs and PS1 games (Installment 2 of 3)

Wednesday, December 18, 2013
In the second installment I would like to show you how to install PSP games at your PS Vita. At first, we do NOT support any kind of piracy, and we do not answer any piracy related questions.
This tutorials is only for self-made backups of games that you own, this applies to PSP games but also to PS1 games.
Got some legal games? Okay, let’s get started!

FOR INSTALLING GAMES WE NEED A FEW TOOLS, I WILL SHOW YOU HOW TO DO THIS AT WINDOWS 7

At first we need WinRAR: Download (use the version of your language)
Then be sure to enable the file extensions (Important!): Click me
We also need a backup of our games. Just create them with a PSP or via some Homebrew tools from your PSN related files.
Got everything?

HOW TO PREPARE THE GAMES FOR TRANSFERING THEM TO YOUR PS VITA

In this part we will prepare our games, so we can transfer them to the PS Vita. Since PS1 games are .PBP files, refer to my homebrew installation tutorial for installing them.
Use the following explanation for PSP games in the .ISO and .CSO format:
Installing ISOs and CSOs is pretty simple.
Just grab your ISO or CSO and put it into the exploit savedata folder (e.g. for Megamix EU in NPEZ00068).
Then rename the to be installed game into GAME1.ISO, if it is an ISO file, or into GAME1.CSO if it is a CSO file.
Be sure that you’ve enabled the option to see the full file extensions, so you don’t end up with something like GAME1.ISO.iso.
If your game is fully capitalized and has a shortened name, you can now transfer the exploit savedata to your PS Vita.
Since we are transfering actual games, and not only homebrews, this might take a while.
When the savedata is at the PS Vita, start the exploit game and go into the XMB.
Now go to the game column and your game should appear (either at top or at the bottom).
Press triangle and install the game (this will move the game from the savedata folder to the ms0:/ISO/ folder).
It is recommended to later remove the game from the savedata folder, so you don’t waste space.
That’s it. Pretty easy, isn’t it?
If you’ve got any problems with installing games, refer to my tutorial video below.
I wish you a lot of fun with Total_Noobs TN-V4 eCFW.

TN-V4: How to Install Homebrews (Installment 1 of 3)

Wednesday, December 18, 2013
TN-V4 is now publicly available (for Firmwares up to 3.01) and Total_Noob is finally able to rest. Since he did the main job, programming his awesome eCFW, it is now up to us to help all the users that might have problems with some functions of TN-V4.
I would like to show you in 3 installments how to install homebrews, ISO and CSO files and finally plugins, CTF-Themes and other various PSP hacking related files (installment 1, 2 and 3, respectively).
Let’s get started!
The most important thing is that you own a PS Vita that runs TN-V4. Can you boot into the XMB? Great!

FOR INSTALLING HOMEBREWS WE NEED A FEW TOOLS, I WILL SHOW YOU HOW TO DO THIS AT WINDOWS 7.

At first we need WinRAR: Download (use the version of your language)
Then be sure to enable the file extensions (Important!): Click me
We also need homebrews. Just get them from somewhere in the internet.
Got everything?

HOW TO PREPARE THE HOMEBREWS FOR TRANSFERING THEM TO YOUR PS VITA

In this part I will show you how to prepare the homebrews for transfering them to your PS Vita.
At first create a folder called PSP. Within this PSP folder create another folde called GAME.
Now check your homebrews if they look fine. There should be an EBOOT.PBP (and sometimes some other files too) inside of a folder (e.g.: PSPFiler -> EBOOT.PBP). If this is the case, then the homebrew is good to go.
Now move said folder (in our example PSPFiler) and put it into the previous GAME folder. If we did everything right we now have this structure: /PSP/GAME/PSPFiler/EBOOT.PBP.
If this is the case, then go back to the folder in which the PSP folder is.
Right click the PSP folder and create a .ZIP file. Be sure to call it INSTALL.ZIP and be very sure to enable the file extension (see above).
If the INSTALL.ZIP file is ready, put it into the exploit savedata folder (for example the Megamix exploit: NPEZ00068).
Now copy the exploit savedata folder to your PS Vita.
Start the exploit game and trigger the exploit.
If you are in the XMB, go to GAME and check for your homebrew, it should now appear.
Press Triangle on it and select install.
Install said homebrew and then delete the .zip file.
Go back and check your savegames, photos, music or videos.
Re-check your games and the homebrew you want to install should appear.
Thats it. Pretty easy, isnt it?
If you’ve got any problems with installing homebrews, refer to my tutorial video below.
I wish you a lot of fun with Total_Noobs TN-V4 eCFW

Total Noob’s CEF TN-V4

Tuesday, December 17, 2013
TNV4pic
You’ve been waiting patiently for months. You’ve read change logs, heard rumors, looked atpictures and watches videos. You’ve checked Wololo’s site to the point where your F5 key is broken. You’ve  put Dollars, Euros, and Yen in your PSN wallets. You (hopefully listened toinstructions and) downloaded your ninja release and now it is sitting in your Vita. Waiting. Begging. Crying. Screaming. GIVE ME TN-V4!!! Well the wait is over. TN-V4 is here!!! Welcome to Hackinformer! Would you like your TN-V4 served with 32 or 64mb of ram? ;)
First off NONE of this wouldn’t be possible without the work of a single man. The masterpiece that he has crafted for the Vita that bears his initials, TN. Total_Noob you are a hero to the Vita scene, and the man that made this possible.  Thank you for all of your hard work in making all of our Vita’s 1000 times cooler, giving us access to content that by all rights we should already have access to, and removing restrictions on a device WE OWN, NOT SONY. Total_Noob. We all humbly thank you.
On a personal note, Total_Noob DOESN’T get paid for his work. Nobody in this scene does. Everything down to the news you read to the exploit’s you install is all done for free and for the love of the scene. If you find Total_Noobs work worth a couple bucks (and you know it is!) you can donate to him here.
Secondly, We here at Hackinformer would like to thank Wololo and his team of moderators. Who made the ninja release of both exploit games possible. Without Wololo and his ninja release, Sony would most likely pull the games long before the majority of the end users would be able to get them. So to Wololo and his team a big thank you!
And lastly we would like to thank every developer who provides this game exploit to the scene (special thanks to Acid_Snake, Qwikrazor87, Patchouli and 173210) A big thank you Freakler who prepared all user exploits that trigger TN-V4.
